Results

The Reilley Law Firm handles a wide variety of personal injury and medical malpractice cases. Below is a sample of cases personally handled by Timothy Reilley:

1. Wrongful Death settlement for family of a 4 year old girl who was killed when her family's truck was hit by a drunk driver. Case settled for significantly more than policy limits after trial.
2. Medical malpractice jury verdict. 50 year old male treated with urologist for kidney stone. Ureter was torn during the extraction of the kidney stone. Torn ureter required removal of otherwise healthy kidney. Jury verdict for our client exceeded 7x the final offer by defendant's insurance company.
3. Personal Injury Settlement: Client was rear-ended in parking lot and struck head on dashboard. Subsequently developed a subdural hemotoma. Witnesses at scene and police report placed blame on our client. Defendant's carrier originally denied claim. During our investigation we discovered a witness who was working across the street at the time of the collision and witnessed the collision. Settled case pre-trial for full policy limits.
4. Wrongful Death Settlement: Young female underwent laparoscopic gastric bypass procedure. Presented a few days later with signs and symptoms of bowel obstruction. Defendants failed to diagnose and treat in a timely manner. Client died from sepsis as a result of complications of the procedure and failure to diagnose and treat the complications. Family reached a confidential settlement prior to trial.
5. Wrongful Death Settlement: 26 year old male presented to ER with complaints of severe asthma. Defendant hospital and physician failed to properly monitor and treat client. Physician failed to timely intubate and client died from complications of bronchial asthma. Family reached confidential settlement prior to trial.
6. Clients' home was burglarized. Clients made a claim on their homeowner's policy for $29,000 worth of stolen personal property. Insurance company refused to pay on the claim and essentially accused our clients of lying about the claim. Clients sued insurance company for bad faith. Jury returned a verdict of 10x the offer made by insurance company during trial and 100x offer made before trial.
7. Personal Injury/Wrongful Death Settlement: 18 wheeler drove onto shoulder of highway and into TDOT roadside crew. One crew member was killed, others severely injured. Trucking company offered policy limits. Case settled for confidential amount after owner of trucking company agreed to contribute to the settlement out of his personal account in addition to the corporate policy limits.
8. Wrongful Death settlement for family of 60 year old male killed in a head-on collision. Case settled for liability policy limits plus umbrella policy prior to trial.
